my services
I provide trauma-focused therapy for individuals. The primary goal is to help process the emotions, beliefs, and memories associated with trauma and release the injury stored in the brain and body.
Trauma impacts the brain and body much like a physical injury. If left unhealed, it continues to cause pain, signaling the need for attention and healing. Left unhealed, trauma can significantly disrupt various aspects of life, including financial, psychological, physical, relational, occupational, and social well-being—even long after the traumatic event.
Trauma-focused therapy helps individuals understand how trauma affects their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.Brainspotting is a trauma-focused technique that emphasizes relief from trauma's effects without needing to revisit or retell the traumatic experience itself.
in person
I offer individual, in-person sessions in my office in Meridian. Typically, counseling sessions are attended once per week, lasting 60 minutes. Depending on your goals, sessions can be scheduled more frequently or longer than 60 minutes.
telehealth
Telehealth sessions are available for clients who live outside of the Treasure Valley or for those who feel like this is a better fit for them. As with in-person sessions, Telehealth sessions are typically 55 minutes long. They can be attended once per week or more frequently if it helps meet your goals more quickly.
accelerated trauma recovery
feel better . . . fast
Weekly sessions may not be suitable for everyone. Sometimes you may want to feel better in a matter of days rather than over weeks or months. Accelerated sessions are concentrated sessions that deliver accelerated results.
Enhanced recovery involves increasing the frequency or duration of counseling sessions beyond the typical norms of traditional therapy. Intensive therapy aims to speed up progress and alleviate symptoms, helping individuals to handle intense and overwhelming trauma responses more swiftly and effectively.
Using Brainspotting in intensive sessions, a powerful treatment that focuses on the brain and body, aids in the processing and releasing of trauma, reshaping negative self-beliefs, and reducing reliance on unhealthy coping mechanisms and problematic behaviors. This approach often leads to faster improvements and quicker development of coping skills, expediting progress and symptom relief.
specialities
I specialize in assisting individuals in recovering from the impacts of traumatic experiences. Recognizing the effects of trauma on our well-being can be challenging as they may not be immediately apparent and often operate outside of our conscious awareness.
The effects of trauma are complex, and many may not realize their anxiety, depression, panic, OCD, ADHD, bipolar, chronic pain, addictions, spiritual struggles, or relationship stress are often the result of unhealed trauma stored in their brain and body.
